EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission

Maximising pool temperature and inhibiting algae growth at the same time is now possible with this innovative light filtering material, meaning there is no need to compromise between temperature performance and chemical savings. Offering optimized solar gain and algae inhibition, the patent applied for EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission material now effectively delivers the best possible balance between solar heat gain, chemical and filtration reductions, making it the most innovative solar cover to date.

Selective Transmission

The bubble layer of the material uses a patented midnight blue pigment combination which gives the material its selective transmission properties. The pigment formulation works as a selective filter absorbing the visible wavelengths responsible for photosynthesis. This absorbed energy is passed to the pool through conduction, while the transmission properties of the bubble layer allows for Infrared Radiation (IR) wavelengths to pass through the material and be directly absorbed by the water.

Evaporation prevention

The material provides a barrier to evaporation, giving the pool the ability to preserve water and reduce heat loss through evaporative cooling. Prevention of evaporative losses has the largest impact on maintaining a pool’s temperature, responsible for 70% of the heat loss from the pool. EnergyGuard Selective Transmission has been tested to prevent over 98% of evaporative losses.

Woven Material

Tougher, longer lasting materials, with all the benefits of GeoBubble™ technology. The new woven product range is tougher, stronger and longer lasting material, perfect for commercial applications such as school or community swimming pools, these materials will provide the great cost and energy savings you’d expect from GeoBubble™.

  • GeoBubble Technology
  • Increase water temperature by up to 7°C
  • Inhibit Algae Growth
  • Reduce energy consumption by up to 60%
  • Reduce chemical consumption by up to 60%
  • Reduce filtration time by up to 50%
  • Eliminates water evaporation by 98%+
  • Reduce debris contamination
  • Save money and shrink the carbon footprint of your pool

Give your cover an edge with a Leading Edge Towing System for the effortless application of any cover. Made from tough foam-filled netting, it will not fill with water and will keep the cover buoyant at all times.

The “DIY” leading edge can be fitted at home. It simply involves piercing holes in your cover, fixing the foam section and webbing onto the cover with press fix connectors and then fixing the rope. We also offer a Factory Fitted Towing Kit which is attached in the factory.

We can supply any size cover – Please call us on 0208 941 6618 or email us for more information.

Please note that covers are currently taking approximately 10 working days for delivery. Please call us for a more accurate lead time.

How to care for your solar cover:

  • Solar covers will quickly overheat when removed from the pool and left in the sun, especially when on a reel – so always keep in the shade or use the solar protection sheet provided
  • Leave the cover off the pool for an hour or so after giving the water a chemical shock treatment – strong chemicals will gradually perish the material
  • Do not use in pools where the temperature is constantly over 29°C
  • Solar covers can be damaged by freezing water – use a proper debris cover when you shut the pool down over the winter
